First Post of 2010

Josh started this blog, but doesn't really have the time to maintain it. So one of my New Year's resolutions was to post something at least once a month. Seeing as we are now half way through February, obviously I haven't kept that resolution as well as I had hoped. So here's what's new with the Josh Porter family.

In November we bought a home in Springville, just 10 minutes south of Provo. We love the small town feel and still enjoy being close to family and Josh's work. We have a great ward and a great neighborhood too.

Grayson is almost 2 and 1/2. He is on the go all the time. We've noticed lately that he has a natural affinity to sports. I can't tell if this is a boy thing, a Porter thing, or both. So far his favorites are golf, soccer ball and basketball (pronounced bisketball).

He's quite the talker and has quickly picked up on good manners. When asking for something he always says "please". He says "thank you" for everything from turning on a favorite movie to making him something to eat. Who said being a mom is a thankless job? I love it! He has taught me be to be a little more appreciative for the little things in life too. Even when in the middle of a tantrum he remembers his manners. When he's offered something he doesn't want during an emotional melt down he stops just long enough to say, "No. No thanks."

We spent Valentine's Day going to church and visiting with Josh's family. Josh's Aunt Kim and Uncle Kelly came up from San Diego with their kids for the weekend. Grayson loved playing with the Marble Works set and his older second cousins Kade and Sam. They helped him build it up and load and unload the marbles. Somehow he manages to be the center of attention wherever he goes.
